Many people think that their hot tub is only good when it’s cold outside. Truth is that your hot tub spa can be the perfect thing any time of year, especially in the summer. Follow these easy steps from Rocky Mountain Hot Tub Company to get your hot tub ready for some summer fun!

Drain and Clean the Hot Tub
Whether or not you used your hot tub this winter, it is always a good idea to drain and clean the hot tub every few months. Use this time to scrub every nook and cranny to get rid of any grim or build up that may contaminate the water. This also gives you a chance to make sure everything is working correctly and replace any parts that need replacing. The last thing you need is everyone showing up for a night of fun and relaxation in the hot tub and it stop working.

Check the Filters
It’s important to check the filters and make sure they are clean. If you have disposable filters and yours are looking like they have seen better days, buy new ones. If you have reusable filters, soak them in cleaning solution and then let them dry completely before putting them back in the hot tub.

Check the Chemical Balance
After replacing the water, you will need to make sure that it has the right chemical levels so it does not become cloudy or develop odors. You want your water to stay fresh and clean all summer so be sure to take a sample in to be checked or have someone come and service your hot tub occasionally.

Cool Down
After a long and cold winter, everyone will be ready for warm days and cool nights. If you are using your hot tub after the sun has gone down, normal hot tub temperatures will provide the perfect experience. However, if you are using the hot tub during a hot day, try turning the temperature down to 95 degrees for a comforting and cooler experience.
